I don’t drink coffee. But I think most people at least drink 2 cups ever morning to get their self going. I mean literally going. Some us it the function in the morning others us it to get their (bowels) going. Either way they are going somewhere!

2-3 cups is ok. Small amount of caffeine is good for your heart.

As a psychologist who works with helping medical cardiac patient’s develop better health behaviors, and can tell you that 2 to 3 cups of coffee each day is okay, more than 5 and you’ll significantly increase your risk of heart disease. And if you are smoking at the same time, try to stop both substances. My program regularly works with individuals who drink 10 to 12 cups of coffee each day, and most of these people need heart transplants. If they smoked on top of it, they tend to be in their mid 30s to 40s, if they were a coffee drinker only, they tend to be in their 502 and 60s. But, this is a generalization. They say Einstein drank 12 cups of coffee per day, and he died from vessel damage (which we can’t necessarily relate to his coffee consumption).
